An Interview with Justine Clarke

Justine Clarke is a legend of Australian stage, screen and music. She began her career at age seven and has since spent three decades working in the industry. Most recently you may have seen her in the miniseries Hoges or as Diane in the 2016 film Red Dog: True Blue. Now she’s about to release a children’s album alongside with her new children’s show, Justine Clarke’s Ta Da!

What is your new show Justine Clarke’s Ta Da! all about?

I would say it’s about all the excitement and joy of putting on a show. It’s set at the five minute call. In each episode I’m getting ready for a show [then] something goes wrong and we have to fix it because the show must go on. And at the end of every episode there’s a new song.

An Interview with Rachael Leahcar

It’s been five years since Rachael Leahcar made the Top 3 on The Voice, alongside her mentor Delta Goodrem. The Adelaide born singer and songwriter, released her latest album Shadows earlier this year, showcasing a more mature sound with heavier lyrics, and is about to hit the road on the tour of the same name.

Rachael you’re about to tour Shadows around in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. How are the rehearsals coming along?

I’m very excited; it’s been a lot of planning, coming together finally. The band’s incredible! They’re very talented people! They learnt the songs pretty much straight away. They’re amazing! This is the first time I’ve toured since 2013, so I wanted to get out there, test the waters and do the main cities, but [I] definitely have plans to go a bit further next time [and] maybe do some more rural places.

On October 31 the Bravo! Cruise of the Performing Arts 2017 cruise ship sets sail for the shores of Noumea and Isle of Pines. Performing on the seven night cruise is three tenor José Carreras, Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino and many more. I spoke with tenor, composer and performer, David Hobson about what people can expect from this exciting cruise.

On October 31st you set sail on Bravo! Cruise of the Performing Arts 2017 cruise ship. What can you tell me about it?

It’s on this huge ship called the Radiance of the Seas – I think it’s the third time it’s been done – and it’s literally like a festival of music on the sea. It’s pretty amazing! If you’d asked me to do it 10 years ago, I would have said you were crazy, because it sounds like a really daggy event, but you’ve got this 1000-seat theatre with a full orchestra on board, where each night there’s either a fantastic opera or music theatre concert. I was gob smacked when we did it because my impression of cruising was like The Love Boat, back in the 70s, but it’s not like that at all!
