My Favourite Five: Anne Hathaway Movies

I like Anne Hathaway. While she may have gotten her big break in a Disney movie, she hasn’t shied away from varying and challenging roles. Here are five of my favourites:

5) GET SMART

While I am a fan of the original TV series I think Anne did a good interpretation of Agent 99. She didn’t try to do a carbon copy of Barbara Feldon’s performance and she didn’t try to make the character unrecognisable either. I think it was a steady performance with a solid nod to the TV show.

4) ELLA ENCHANTED

I had no idea Anne could sing until I saw this movie. Cute and endearing, Ella Enchanted shows us that Anne still has the talent for family friendly movies that, whether you want to or not, may very well make you sing a long with her.

3) BECOMING JANE

I loved this movie as it showed Jane Austin as a formidable female character who had wit and fire. It also showed Anne’s ability to step away from children’s films and go a little deeper with her acting range.

2) THE PRINCESS DIARIES

I cannot imagine this role being played by anyone else. Anne Hathaway portrays Mia with a goofy and awkward side that I can’t help but connect with.

1) THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

I don’t know what I love more about this movie; Anne’s wardrobe changes, her scenes with Meryl Streep or the fact that she gets to go to Paris as part of an assistant’s role. *jealous*
