This is one of those movies that I had seen previews for in 2012 but never ended up watching when it was first released.
I liked it. It has a fairly engaging storyline, solid acting and interesting character motivations (even if they are not clear at first). I really enjoyed how the movie was shot and put together. It wasn’t bogged down with trying to over explain everything but it wasn’t too vague either.
For some reason different elements of the whole movie reminded me a little of Day Breakers, In Time and Man on Fire. I don’t know why but they are the first three movies I thought of when Looper ended. It could have to do with the style of movie, characters and (at a stretch) parts of the plot.
I would recommend this movie if you are willing to accept the story for what it is and not over think the time travel concept that it offers.
