I’ve been reading up on the hype of coconut oil and coconut water and I must say it has me a little curious. There is so much information and testimony out there about the many benefits of coconuts. It’s apparently a very good source of moisture for your hair, skin and overall hydration. However, as you can’t believe everything you read, I decided to test it out for myself. I bought a jar of virgin, cold pressed coconut oil for the purpose of my experiment and tried a couple of different coconut water drinks. Here’s what I have discovered so far: Continue reading “My Coconut Journey”

My Favourite Five: Phoebe Quotes
I love Phoebe as a character because she’s sassy, childlike and tough and just when you think you’ve got her all figured out she throws out a one-liner that will either make you laugh or leave you with a mountain of questions. Here are my favourite Phoebe quotes:
5) “A promise between friends means never having to give a reason.” (Phoebe can be rather profound when she wants to be and quite the manipulator – poor Joey!)
4) Rachel: “Phoebe, do you have a plan?”
Phoebe: “I don’t even have a pla.” (Yep. There has been so many days like this.) Continue reading “My Favourite Five: Phoebe Quotes”
My Favourite Five: Colin Firth Movies
It is difficult to choose only five favourite Colin Firth movies. There has been so many he has been in and I am yet to find one that I didn’t like his performance in. Here are five that, for me, have been memorable. Continue reading “My Favourite Five: Colin Firth Movies”
Thoughts on the movie Blended
Blended is one of those movies you don’t deliberately go out of your way to see but when you do happen to watch it you are somewhat glad that you did.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore together in The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates. Their chemistry was natural and the storylines well fleshed out and balanced with well-timed comedy. Blended, however, fails to transition into an Adam Sandler classic and instead manages to be an average family friendly movie you might drag out on a rainy day for kids between 9 and 15. Binge Watching Favourites: Cover Affairs S1 Ep1 – Pilot (extended version)
Covert Affairs is a sassy, well developed, action-packed spy drama. It has the intrigue and intensity of Alias and the quick wit and friendly banter of Bones (with sarcasm thrown into the mix too). Add to that characters that draw you in and I’m hooked!
Here’s my run down of the pilot episode: Continue reading “Binge Watching Favourites: Cover Affairs S1 Ep1 – Pilot (extended version)”
I’ve Been Watching Too Many Movies And Now My Brain Hurts
If my life was a movie the plot would not make a whole lot of sense. The scene changes would be epic and the settings a weird mix of eras and props. As the lead I would be a bundle of characters, the personality traits mashed together like an emotional patchwork mess. Continue reading “I’ve Been Watching Too Many Movies And Now My Brain Hurts”
Thoughts on Looper (2012)
This is one of those movies that I had seen previews for in 2012 but never ended up watching when it was first released. Continue reading “Thoughts on Looper (2012)”
Thoughts on Walk of Shame (2014)
I love Elizabeth Banks. She’s adorable. If you are after a comedy filled with lots of funny moments and ridiculous misunderstandings I recommend you add Walk of Shame to your movie night list. Continue reading “Thoughts on Walk of Shame (2014)”
My Favourite Five: Johnny Depp Character Transformations
There are those actors who give the same style performance playing pretty much the same character each time (with a change of accent or costume) and then there are those who really transform for a role and give it everything. Here are five times Johnny Depp has proven he can adapt and deliver the goods with appearance, body language and voice.
5.) SWEENEY TODD
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) Continue reading “My Favourite Five: Johnny Depp Character Transformations”
