Brooke McClymont is one third of the award-winning country trio, The McClymonts along with her two sisters Sam and Mollie. Currently on their Forever Begins Tonight tour and promoting their fourth studio album Here’s To You & I, I spoke to Brooke about song writing, keeping it in the family and being on the road.
How is the Forever Begins Tonight tour going?
Oh my gosh, it’s going amazing. We’ve been touring since July last year but at the beginning of this year we decided to name it the Forever Begins Tonight tour clearly this is because the song just came out – it’s our new single – and it just felt like we do do it forever and we haven’t stopped. We wrap up the tour around mid-May but with a few festivals still up our sleeve throughout the end of the year.

Can True Love Be Found On Tinder? I got the idea from a review website which gave out paid trial memberships to singles looking for love. I cannot remember what the website was called, but I remember one reviewer saying she approached others yet was completely humiliated because she got no interest back in return.
Feeling inspired, I wanted to see for myself if it is possible to make a romantic connection online. As Tinder is the common acceptable form of finding love these days amongst people my age, I signed up for a three day experiment to see if true love can be found of Tinder or if it only deserves its infamous “booty call” title.
On doing research for this project, I found a couple who met via Tinder who are now engaged. There were also articles (such as here) which spoke of the negatives of online dating. This expanded my experiment to see if I would experience any abuse from potentials.
I had three key rules:
1. I would not include a photo of myself – even if one was requested.
2. I had to be 100% truthful during all communications – IE. no pretending to be something I’m not, like something I don’t etc.
3. I would not judge men on their photos and/or profiles. Each and every man was considered a potential.

I first discovered the music of film composer Danny Elfman back in 1986, when watching the cult classic Pee-wee’s Big Adventure on VHS one day. It was Elfman’s first film as a composer, having previously been lead singer of the new wave band Oingo Boingo. Tim Burton, who was also making his film debut with the movie, was a fan of the band and frequented many of their concerts in LA, and decided Elfman would be the perfect choice to score his movie. Despite having no experience in film music, he produced a unique, completely revolutionary score and in the process created a completely new approach to scoring films.
Cut to 30 years later and Elfman is now regarded as one of the best and most influential composers in Hollywood history, still working steadily today, with the 2015 releases 50 Shades of Grey and The Avengers: Age of Ultron on his list of credits this year.

To say I’m obsessed with this song right now would be an understatement.
I want no need to go see them in concert this year!
I’m Adelaide born and bred. It was an amazing place to grow up. I was drawn to the Performing Arts from an early age. I went to an Arts-based high school and loved immersing myself in things like the music program, Rock Eisteddfod and Drama. I moved to Ballarat to study a Music Theatre degree at the University of Ballarat Arts Academy.
It was the perfect University for me – super creative and tucked away from the world, so we were forced to focus and work! I went hard my first year out and worked on nine shows, I think. Some were professional and others were for experience. I just wanted to keep driven and inspired. I played with different styles of theatre, dabbled with directing … I could go on forever but you probably don’t need my life story [laughs].
